This is even more obvious when it flew over on Monday on the way to Rome.
This was not on the first itinerary but was a little, less touristy town where I tried some artistic photography.
Ston is famed for the salt pans creating a lot of salt in the first approaches and we were given a talk then we climbed part of the "Great wall of Europe".
We wanted a drink in town afterward. The coach took us to a liqueur and wine tasting. Then it was on to an oyster tasting, for which the region is, in addition, famous. They were rather great although I am told they were not up to Bluff oyster standards but.
On Sunday we sailed across the biggest seas of our journey back to Split, where we'd to give the yacht we chartered back. Again we had a town tour, so although I'd drifted in the town by myself a week before I learnt. Probably the worst of the long history in the town was in the siege from October 1991 to May 1992. Happily most has been restored.
Before travelling to the airport on Monday for the day flight to Rome it was time for a final dinner and sleep on board.: Source
